Who We Are
Unpopular Outdoors: It’s Not Just About the Gear or the Guide, It’s About the Outdoors.
We sell apparel and offer guiding services, but those are just the vehicles for something bigger.
"Unpopular Outdoors" may seem like an odd name for a business dedicated to promoting the outdoors. We hear that a lot—and we agree. But that’s exactly why we chose it. It’s a daily reminder of our mission: To engage more people in outdoor activities and to help protect our rights to hunt, fish, and trap. Unfortunately, these traditions have become less popular in many circles. We’re here to change that.
The world is shifting in many ways—some good, some not so much. Both sides of the conversation are valid, and everyone has an opinion. That’s the beauty of living in a free society: the ability to think independently. Not everyone will love hunting, fishing, or trapping—and we respect that. But our goal is simple: to introduce as many people as we can to these pursuits, showcasing them in a positive, honest, and enjoyable way.
These activities have so much to offer. Beyond the hunt, the catch, or the trap, they teach us respect, perseverance, mental toughness, self-control, compassion, conservation, and happiness—values that are more important now than ever.
If you give hunting, fishing, or trapping an honest effort, truly try to understand what these activities can teach you, what they do for conservation—and if you still don’t like them—that’s okay. We appreciate that you took the time to try. All we ask is that you acknowledge it’s not for you, but also respect that it is for us.
-
Step one: Awareness. To learn something new, you first need to know the opportunity exists. Our goal is to highlight all the outdoor experiences waiting just outside your door.
-
Step two: Experience. We’re creating opportunities for youth to try these activities firsthand and discover the joy of the outdoors.
-
Step three: Acceptance. We know hunting, fishing, and trapping aren’t for everyone. And that’s okay. But our hope is that by offering hands-on experiences, you can make an informed decision based on your own experiences. If it’s not for you, we still hope you understand why it’s important to others—and why it’s worth protecting.
We respect your passions. Please respect ours.
